This Thanksgiving I am especially thankful for the people of Nashville!

I cant even begin to describe how kind and generous the folks are here.

Today at the grocery store I was greeted by NAME and introduced to a employee from AZ. Seriously everybody just cares about being friendly and building relationships!

Every guy tips their hat, and in a polite way.

I decided Mia only can marry a boy from the south:)

I love our ward, we had so many invites for Thanksgiving.

I was in charge of rolls, moms Chocolate pie, MAshed potatoes and bacon water chesnuts. It was actually pretty fun trying new things that our different peoples traditions.

The South knows how to cook!

Even though someone dropped my pie, I couldnt be mad at them because they were too nice!

We then sat around the fire and listened to singing and roasted marshmellows.

It is so beautiful here, so green and open.

Myles and Mia loved going on tractor rides and playing with all the kids.

I hope when I leave NAshville that a part of NAshville stays with me:)

Ice Madagascar

Ice is something everyone should do! Im sad I didnt take more pics inside, but they keep it at 10 degrees, and I wasnt taking my hands out of my pockets.

Everything is carved out of ice from Santa and his sled to the Nativity scene.

Myles and Willie slid down the ice slides, and Mia was loving all the characters.

There really is so much to do here, Im hoping we check out the worlds biggest aquarium in Georgia during Willies Christmas break.

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you so much for letting us live with you the past 18 mon. It was honestly such a blast. I will treasure all the wonderful memories there. You taught me so much! Like how to make the best sunday roast, mashed potatoes/gravy dinner. I learned how to put a belt back on the vacume. Willie learned how to mow a perfect lawn.PERFECT.

Myles will miss his rough housing with Grandpa and Mia will miss the nightly dance parties. All the times you knew I was going to pull my hair out, you knew and would save me. If it were taking them on a walk or playing the piano for Mia. I Thank you!

All our movie nights and ice cream eating. I now have nobody to eat the pistachios out of the blue bell icecream so I dont even buy it now.(probably a good thing)

With tears streaming down my face, I just want you to know we are forever changed for the better and miss you alot! As for Dad being superman and helping us with the move, I feel so blessed to have the relationship I do with him. I dont know very many that are as close to their dad as I am. I know Willie will miss having him to talk to every night. He already misses his gym buddy. I always wanted to marry someone as humble as my dad and I really did. The two of them were the best of friends.

THE MOVE

Home sweet home! We love our little condo, We have never lived anywhere so long on our

own. Pretty crazy almost 10 years of marriage!

Myles at Berry Chapels Pre school, Tues-Thurs 9-2 . There is a church on every corner here, such religious folks in the South. Love it!

I flew to Little Rock with the kids to meet Willie, my dad and the Waites. They surprised us at the gates, I balled my eyes out. It was so nice to have them help us move in.

We drove around Vanderbilt and saw where Willie will go to school.

It is absolutely breathtaking here! The leaves are all changing and we are loving it.

Myles Room

I had so much fun decorating our little place, I was on Craigslist the whole month before we moved. I even busted out the oil paint and made the painting. It was so fun, Im working on another one right now.

My friend Vanessa helped me with the pillows and took me to some great fabric stores.

We checked out one of the 6 Paul Mitchel Schools that Bill and Donna own. Super cool, and great spa!

Grandpa Bill bought Myles the leather jacket at a gas station in Nashville, Myles was in Heaven.

2 hours from Nashville, we stopped and got some good ol southern BBQ

***I recently discovered Instagram and love everything about it. Mostly because Im lonely and love the instant responses. It makes me feel like Im having conversations with people besides my kids.

My friend Brooke and I went and stayed at Cavallo Point in Sausalito.

Absoulutely breathtaking.

It has the best spa, and yoga classes. Not to mention the Michelon- star Restaurant in the Hotel.... Oh and the homemade pastries every morning with homemade butter- Im starving myself for the next month!

This is when my mom pipes in and says

"You say that about everything Rachel, is there anything thats not the best ever"

so I may get a little excited over some things.

However,

I promise if you stay in this Zen little piece of Heaven with the best view, you wont be disappointed.

We also took a cooking class, that was so much fun and super yummy.

All organic cooking from the Farmers Market.

Our menu was:

Avocado, cucumber and tomato salad with parsley lime vinaigrette and pickled shrimp

Pan roasted coriander and Fennel Rubbed Lamb

Chops with smoked onions and garlic

Polenta corn fries with feta fondue

Ratatouille

Black peppered ice cream with fresh berry compote, rosemary syrup and coco nib, almond and parmesan biscotti. Sounds funky but out of this world.

Another fabulous time at Lake Powell this year.

my mom watched Mia so I was able to fully enjoy the lake.

I love Willies family, Myles had so much fun getting all the attention.

3 weeks in California was pure bliss

we skipped naps, ate late dinners, had sandy hair, lived in our swimsuits, enjoyed the beach. alot.

our friends and family are so good to us.

we got to see Whitney and Kevins new place in Santa Monica and walk 3rd street

I got to take ballet cardio with friends. That was a real treat.

Willie got to surf with Marcus

Mia got to play with doggies.

Myles was in Heaven with all the daily activities with his buddies.

My sister Candice was in town, and put together a cousin hike. We went up to the cabin the night before, and had such a great weekend. The weather was beautiful and the hike was adventurous. We hiked Mt Humphrey that just so happens to be the highest mountain in Arizona.

My cousin Richard had on his Garmin and these were his stats. Can I pretend they were mine:)

I need to set my garmin with my bpm..someone teach me!

( Mt. Humphreys: 12,637 ft., 6:04 hours, 2,700 calories, ave heart rate: 129 bpm.)

Big shout out to my mom for watching my darlings for 8 hours. Love you!

also Insanity for kickin my butt so I could make it up the Mountain.

as for the rad tree house, my Uncle Paul built it, and the kids lived in it all day.

Willie teaches, and Im lucky if I hear a talk.

We celebrated Myles' Birthday at Amazing Jakes. It was a total success, we managed to eat lunch and dinner there.

Myles wanted an Oreo cake, he likes rich chocolate just like his mama. It was layered with brownie, white chocolate mouse, cheesecake and Oreo chocolate frosting. Myles and I ate it for breakfast today.

Mia turns 1 next week, she loved all the excitement.

My brother Roman, and his wife Shaley came down for the week with little baby Lucy.

She is seriously the most beautiful little girl.

we all couldnt get enough of her

We were lucky enough to see Jane for 24 hours on her way down to Mexico from Provo. I wish there was a time when all of us lived in the same state. What a dream that would be.

Willie took me to Mastro's Ocean Club on Saturday night, and I think its my favorite Restaurant in arizona.Yep It is, my mouth just watered thinking about the butter cake that turned me into a butterball:)

It has been 1 year since Willies brother, Joey died. We were able to go do his Temple work in Newport. What an amazing experience, doing Temple work for your actual family. I ofcoarse cried my eyes out. It was really special.

After we went to a memorial, where one of his friends sang and played the guitar.
Mia was the favorite this trip, Myles was a close second:)
We were able to squeeze in some park time. I really miss the parks in California. It was a beautiful weekend. We will be back in 6 weeks. But who's counting

One of my dear Friends had a Surprise 30th that I just couldnt miss. I knew it would be superb because shes an Everson. Plus Her sister Jaime was mostly in charge, and no detail went unnoticed.

The theme was say good bye to your roaring 20's, how great was my dress??. it was my moms like 100 years ago ( heehee Mom! xoxo :) Jaime had a costume ready for Brooke to change into when she arrived. They had a photographer so I didn't take very many pictures.

I loved the yummy food, it was catered from Pinini and ofcoarse the Bomb cake from Cest si bon- best baguettes and desserts ever!

This trip was especially fun because December in California has some of the sunniest days. I got to walk the Peninsula with my friends and see all the lights on Balboa and eat yummy Hugh's cheesecake.

I miss California alot! Big shout out to my sister, mom and husband for helping with Myles.

It ALMOST went perfect until Myles slammed the door on Cash and split his head open. I better get Cash a good Christmas present:)

these two little grimlins have a love hate relationship. when they are together they can draw blood. Sometimes if were lucky they will play nice for maybe an hour.tops. Myles annoys Cash to no end. Hes a tease and too loud for his liking. We hope as they get older they will play nicely so Me and my sister can actually hang out.

So I have one of those kids who loves the characters so much that seeing them from distance wasn't enough.He wanted to hug all of them. Rides...what are those?? we enjoyed hugging EVERY animated Disney character. I should be thankful he didn't want those lame autograph books. Myles did obsess over pirates of the caribbean, big surprise. I love DLAND and wish we still went weekly with friends.

Train Park

Well I found my new Friday activity, I'm obsessed with the Train park in Scottsdale. Seriously it is the greatest thing ever. I have to say it was such a delight visiting with High School pals. I love how nice it is outside. Next time I want to go grab lunch across the street at Wildflower and have a picnic. Have I mentioned that I lOOOVE Scottsdale!

When I have to go to the bathroom I always put Mia on the floor for obvious reasons. When I got back I found this breakfast picnic. Looks delish!

I never had an older brother but I imagine this is how he would treat me. I cant get enough of the smiles on Mia's face when Myles enters the room. He sometimes tortures her but for the most part loves her to death. CAn you tell Myles is OBSESSED with hats. I wish he would let me pick them out. ugh!

Candce is my oldest sister who is famous, well to me at least. Shes a Producer for KSL is Salt Lake City. I love when she visits, because I know she will always have Mattas chips and salsa waiting for her when she arrives. She will eat chips and salsa for breakfast. I love that she spoils the kids and is such a busy bee. If it weren't for her I would have died in Utah, she took care of Myles while I was hooked to a pick line. We became quite the little hikers and buddies while I lived by her. She is always up for doing fun things and makes thee cutest faces while doing Bikram Yoga. I love that she thinks she has the prettiest feet in the family. Shes a Anne Of Green Gables Junkie and is usually watching PBS Masterpieces Sunday night. I know she is editing this while she reads it and I love you for writing my talks. I love you lots Candy Ann. Muah!

We have been living with my parents and it has been the best experience ever. I don't know what I would do without my mom, she would take Mia from me after hours of her screaming. I think she would be the best "sisterwife". We take turns cooking and I have loved learning her recipes from growing up. My fav stuffed bell peppers. Willie I know has loved having my dad around for some man to man talks. I am truly grateful for Myles and Mia surrounded by such amazing loving people. I am so fortunate to be blessed with the most giving parents. Love you both so much and cant thank you enough!

Myles loves hunting with scorpions with Grandma at night with the black light. There is a reason for holding a HUGE stomping shoe in the picture in case you were wondering.

Willie and his friend Adam, went for a little boys trip to CA. They went to an SC game and enjoyed every minute of it up until they lost. Thanks to Omi and Grandpa for sending Mia and Myles USC gear from head to toe.

i love my sister jane, she is the only sister with brown eyes and I am very jealous of her beauty inside and out.

A few things i enjoy doing when she visits. First she by far has the best sense of humor ever, she always has a punch line. I can always count on bonding time, she loves a movie night included with a treat(usually frozen yogurt) I love that she REALLY loves my kids.

I love that she gets excited over the littlest things and always has a checklists when she visits.

Besides me, shes the best at working my mom for what she wants. I taught her well. Last but not least I love how much fun we have and how EASY it is. I hope Mia is blessed with sisters like mine.

Date Night

This stellar guy took me out to Modern Steak and it was superb!

Best service ever and the truffle french fries were quite delish as well.

Willie has been working 6 days a week and when hes not at work hes doing the yard.

I feel so lucky to call him mine.

I get so excited for our dates, eating at fun restaurants is a hobby for the two of us.

We are actually quite good at it. I want to try all of the Fox restaurants.

Next up is North.

Now that its not so hot it will be fun to walk around. I am so excited for Fall weather.

What do you do when its October Break and the kids are out of school????

Throw a Pirate Party for no reason other then we want to get all the use we can out of Myles Pirate costume( thanks to Omi and Grandpa)

All the cousins had a blast with a treasure hunt and pinata. They are all in Montessori together and love hanging out. Leisel had to leave early because she had a client waiting at her house, but all the boys were sad that Berlin had to leave.

It really melts my heart watching these two. I have to say Myles has been such a lover boy with his sister. He always asks where she is when he gets home from school. Shes the first person he kisses when he wakes up. Today I was telling my sister that I had to take her tomorrow to get shots and Myles started balling saying "don't take my sister".

I treasure these simple moments and want to freeze time. Myles came in from playing outside and smelled like a sweaty kid... ( you know the smell, I prefer spit up smell. )I don't know when he grew up so fast maybe its preschool but I quickly gave him a bath and lathered him in baby lotions.

I started thinking what if Myles is my only boy or what if Mia's my only girl, I just want to enjoy every moment and stop complaining that I never leave the house or I dont get to workout. I love Motherhood more then I thought I ever would.

Birthday Week

I love my cousins, we really have so much fun together. We went to White Chocolate Grill in Scottsdale for my Birthday. The food was delish however the company was even better!
My sister is the best, she is the most selfless person who is always thinking of others. I have loved living so close to her that if I dont see her everyday, we have so much to catch up on.
The train at Chandler Mall is a weekly event that always ends with Wetzel Pretzel.
Alot of this now that its Football season.
It is the best having our birthdays so close. The whole week is filled with yummy food and celebrations. I made Willie his fav lemon Coconut cake.

Natalie took care of Myles when I was in CA last week and he suckered her into pancakes and waffles. He wants it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Mia is so delightful these days. She is starting to smile more and it is so fun. She isn't sleeping much but I love her none the less.

I had a fun getaway with Mia to Newport. I loved seeing all these faces, I miss them so much that I decided I'm coming back every month. Luckily its Football season so Willie likes the idea too! Dear Mia

I cant even believe you are 4 months already. You have been such a hard baby but I love you more then you will ever know.

I enjoy our sleepless nights together. I love that you are so skinny and bald that people still say congratulations to me as if your a 1 month old. I especially love your little grins and yummy coo's.

You roll over as soon as I put you on your belly. You prefer to be held looking outward. You enjoy baths and love to snuggle. I love watching you sleep, you look like you double in size when you wake up in the morning. I laugh that I can hear you breath from the other room because your nose is always stuffed.

I think your cry is the saddest cry, its so hoarse and low- due to thrush and colic. I wish you liked your car seat, not that driving to CA in between 2 car seats isn't fun however, It would be nice to sit shotgun every once in a while.

I am obsessed with kissing you, fresh bath and Jammie's is my fav. It melts my heart seeing you and Myles interact. There's something to be said of the tone in the home with a new baby. I love our little family of four, they have my heart forever. Life is great at the moment and I am thankful everyday for my little treasures.

3 years old

You are happy all of the time, you love to tease and are a social butterfly. I think you are one of a kind. This past year you have quadrupled your vocabulary.( some favorites include: never mind, because, you hurt my feelings after i say no more icecream or hear me mom hear me.

I love that Grandpa calls you jabber jaw. You are such a busy one...I am constantly trying to get you to do something longer then 5 min. I have enjoyed seeing you grow into such a confident little guy, and become so independant.

You are still a mama's boy that likes to have smoothie parties with me every morning. I enjoy dancing with you and reading with you. I laugh so hard when you are a pirate and get into character. I like when I have something you want and you say "maybe we can share mom?"

I think its hysterical that you only like water if its at least 90 degrees or warmer. If your at all wet you want to take off all your cloths. You HATE showers and are such a good sport when dad takes you surfing.

You love Backyardigans and know all the songs. Its hard for you to pick out a movie to watch because if there is anything that is scary or with witches you wont watch it. You could live off kids cliff bars. I love that you like broccoli or "trees" as you call them. I think its funny that you like peanut M&Ms and dark chocolate. You prefer your yogurt with no toppings.

You Love USC and always want to wear the memorabilia. I think you will enjoy the games with your dad, and might have a future in Football- great at catching the ball. Although if you choose musical theatre after your mother that would be OK to:)

Such a lover boy, not exaggerating that you kiss me and tells me you love me at least 10 times a day. I don't want to tell you its not OK to plant wet kisses on the lips to Mrs Jeanelle or stop making out with his cousin Goldie. Grandpa Rays Funeral

Grandpa Ray

I am so thankful for my Grandpa Ray and the the legacy he left behind. He was such a hard working man that raised 11 kids, and loved the Gospel. My favorite memory of him was when we were younger he provided for the grandkids tennis lessons. We always had fun playing with our cousins, and after he would fix breakfast. He always managed to burn the pancakes but we never complained. He loved icy milk so it was always slushy. I love him so much, and am so happy hes with my Grandma Betty again. The Funeral was beautiful and the Spirit was so strong. I cried my eyes out when my mom sang with her siblings, "In this very room" I loved seeing all of them together.
